National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, September 30th, was made a federal statutory holiday on June 3, 2021. The national day was proposed by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission as one of its 94 Calls to Action.

September 30, 2021 marked the first National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Coinciding with Orange Shirt Day, this day honours the lost children and Survivors of Residential Schools.
