The Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) was created to document the impact of Residential Schools and to help support those who were affected and to let them tell their stories in a culturally safe environment.

The TRC also worked to gather all relevant documents related to Residential Schools in Canada. All the records gathered and created by the TRC are held at the National Center for Truth and Reconciliation in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Upon its conclusion, the TRC issued an extensive final report and 94 Calls to Action connected to addressing the legacy of Residential Schools and advancing reconciliation.
